Sinopsis

One of the greatest challenges military commanders face in the planning and execution of warfare is minimizing the fog of war. That gray area in which there is a knowledge gap of what the adversary is going to do at a given time or place, or how ones#65533, own forces will react to a given scenario during a campaign. The great military strategist Carl Von Clausewitz, in his work On War, described this phenomenon as an uncertainty that is present in three quarters of the factors on which action in war is based, and as such results in war being a realm of chances. In an effort to mitigate this uncertainty, commanders have historically relied on intelligence collection as one of the primary means for establishing better battlefield situation awareness. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
