Sinopsis

The fifth of LisztâÇÖs revolutionary series of thirteen symphonic poems, Prometheus started life in 1850 as a dramatic cantata for chorus and orchestra set to Johann Gottfried HerderâÇÖs 'Der entfesselte Prometheus' Liszt subsequently extended and re-orchestrated the overture into the symphonic poem and conducted its premiere in Braunschweig on 18 October 1855.This new study score is a digitally-restored reissue of the score edited by Otto Taubmann in the third volume of the Liszt-Stiftung edition, published in 1909.áIn contrast so many of the on-demand scores now available this one comes with all the pages with each image thoroughly checked to make sure it is readable, then beautifully printed on quality stock with an attractive glossy cover.áAlso included is an informative introduction by Liszt scholar Soren Afshar (Funper), a major contributor to the vast collection of Liszt pieces on IMSLP.áSerenissima Music now offers the matching full score and orchestral parts to this classic edition.
