Sinopsis

Argonautica is an epic poem written by Apollonius Rhodius in 3rd century BC. The poem tells the story of Jason and the Argonauts, who set out on a quest to find the Golden Fleece. The journey takes them through various adventures and encounters with mythical creatures, such as the Harpies and the Clashing Rocks. Along the way, Jason falls in love with the sorceress Medea, who helps him succeed in his quest but ultimately causes his downfall. The poem is known for its rich descriptions of the ancient world and its use of epic conventions, such as the invocation of the Muses and the cataloguing of heroes. The 1872 translation by R.C. Seaton is considered a classic and still widely read today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
